Phi Delta Theta Formally Dedicates New House at 1703 Grady Avenue

Virginia Beta's new house at 1703 Grady Avenue

On Saturday, September 16th, IFC member fraternity Phi Delta Theta formally dedicated its new house at 1703 Grady Avenue, and celebrated the 5-year anniversary of its rechartering. Approximately 60 alumni, university administrators, and friends of Phi Delta Theta joined with the brothers to celebrate the occasion.

“This event was not just a celebration of our new house, but more importantly, a realization that the ideals and beliefs that Phi Delt was founded on 5 years ago have led to our continued success at the University,” said Brian Poulson, Vice President and interim Alumni Chair.

The purchase was made possible by a loan Phi Delt received from the Board of Visitors Fraternity and Sorority Investment Plan in the Fall of 2005. Phi Delt has since put several hundred hours into improving the facility since taking ownership in June. They had previously rented a house on Chancellor Street.

“We are very excited about owning our own house,” said Layton Hill, Phi Delta Theta president. “The fraternity and our alumni have worked very hard to get to this point, and all that work has finally paid off.”
